Pot-banging protest for the devastated Bellaombres. 29-01-2026 at 10

The Bellaombras trees, felled at the base and razed, according to the mayor, were supposedly being used to carry out a technical report stating that the trees were rotten and posed a risk of falling or having branches fall, potentially injuring passersby. This report, however, has not been seen by anyone, despite requests from city council members, neighborhood associations, ARCA (a local environmental organization), and others. If the mayor's stated reason were true, what problem would there be in showing the report, which would clarify the doubt caused by his refusal to disclose it?

Therefore, we are being called to a large and well-attended protest next Thursday, January 29th, at 10:00 a.m. in Plaza de Cort. We are defending our green heritage, all of our heritage, which the current political leaders are not defending, but rather destroying without the slightest remorse.

Share this information so that many more people, in addition to us, can participate. Nature is life, life in itself and life for us. Leafy trees and other green plants, both terrestrial and marine, perform photosynthesis: they absorb the carbon dioxide we exhale into the air and release oxygen back into the air, oxygen that we breathe in. Therefore, when the government cuts down trees to improve the view and create terraces for hotel owners, they not only kill the life of the felled trees but also cause a reduction in the oxygen necessary for our respiration.

On Thursday, January 29th, at 10:00 AM, don't miss it! You and your friends should come with a firecracker and a metal object (a utensil will do) to make noise, to protest, to show your support for our heritage, our green heritage, and to complain about the felling of the Bellasombra trees in Plaza Llorenç Villalonga, in the Calatrava neighborhood.
