Ferran Navines holds a PhD in economics from the University of Barcelona (UB). He has been a tenured professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and a professor at the School of Tourism of the Government of Catalonia. He is a member of the Alternativas collective. In the latest issue of l'Altra Mirada magazine, "Capitalismo de Guerra" (War Capitalism), he contributed an article titled "Militarism versus the Welfare State." He also participated in the panel discussion at the magazine's launch. The various presentations were introduced by Lila Thomàs, a member of the Darder-Mascaró Foundations.
