Dignity demonstration in Madrid against the genocide of Palestinians.

As a proud Mallorcan, Catalan, and Catalan nationalist, I never really liked people from Madrid, because of their arrogance and haughtiness, for being the inhabitants of the capital of the kingdom, and for being the breeding ground for all Spanish fascism (Diaz Ayuso, Almeida, Feijoo, Abascal, Rodriguez, Aznar, Felipe VI, etc.). And because they are the only autonomous region where the most outdated and reactionary branch of the PP party managed to win an absolute majority in the last regional elections.

However, yesterday they redeemed themselves in my eyes. In contrast to the shame of all those, both Spaniards and others, who bow down to the supreme and arbitrary power, the power that causes death, destruction, and plunder, embodied by the military might of Donald Trump's government; in contrast to all those who do not unconditionally condemn the genocide that Netanyahu is perpetrating against the Palestinians and Palestine (more than 60,000 dead, attacks on schools and hospitals, deliberate shootings of people seeking water and food, leaving entire areas without the necessary humanitarian aid to prevent starvation or death from hunger... the worst criminal in the world this 21st century); in contrast to all those who condemn demonstrations like this or statements that demand an immediate end to this genocide, and that the US and the UN do everything possible to force Netanyahu to immediately cease his policy of permanent death, destruction, and plunder.

The demonstration successfully halted the final stage of the race and also the official trophy-presentation ceremony. This was in protest against the participation of an Israeli cycling team, representing the genocidal government of Israel.

As expected, all the fascist political leaders and cycling officials have issued statements criticizing this protest, but not one of those who criticized the demonstration and the statements condemning the genocide and the presence of a cycling team representing this genocidal regime has made the slightest criticism of Israel's genocide—as if, for them, the deaths of 60,000 Palestinians and the destruction and theft of their homes were insignificant. In doing so, they align themselves, as the US government has already done explicitly, with the genocidal state of Israel. Congratulations to all the protesters for their dignity—something your political leaders in Madrid and international cycling officials clearly lack.

The gesture of shame. Ayuso, that disloyal opportunist, prefers to condemn the demonstration of dignity rather than the genocide committed by Israel.
