Between dignity and shame

A large group of protesters against the genocide of Palestinians perpetrated by the Israeli government and army, with the authorization of the US government and military, held a demonstration in Madrid, the capital of Spain, which altered the final stage of the Vuelta a España cycling race, as well as the protocol for the medal and trophy presentation. Suddenly, the Madrid authorities from the PP party (Ayuso, Almeida, and Feijóo) raised an outcry. They claimed this was unthinkable and unforgivable in a modern democracy and would bring serious consequences for Spain, given the expected response from the genocidal Israeli government and its US ally. Not a single word of criticism was uttered against the genocide committed by the Israeli government and army. In fact, in subsequent statements, Díaz Ayuso even took the side of Israel. As if the change to the Vuelta a España protocol were far more serious than the Palestinian genocide. It should be noted that the Madrid demonstration did not cause a single death, while the Palestinian genocide has already claimed more than 60,000 lives, many of them children, babies, and unarmed, innocent civilians. The Madrid demonstration awakened dormant consciences in Europe, and at the current UN summit, of the 193 member states of the UN, more than 160 condemn the Israeli genocide in Palestine. The left-wing parties in Spain and the Balearic Islands also condemn it, while the right-wing parties in Spain and the Balearic Islands avoid antagonizing genocidal Israel and, above all, its main accomplice, the Trump-era US.

Well then, all honor and dignity to the Palestinian victims, both living and dead, and to all those who have spoken out in their defense and against the Israeli atrocities in Palestine. And shame on all those who have openly sided with the perpetrators, as well as those who, with their silence, have lacked the courage to openly criticize the oppressors and defend their victims. The sad thing is that these people have no shame. Europe and the entire Western world have reacted (partially) poorly and too late. Almost as if Palestine were already completely destroyed and the Palestinians gone.

And what will the West do now? Acknowledge the current situation? With all of Palestine destroyed and all Palestinians dead or expelled?

No, the West, and the United States in particular, must ensure that the State of Israel rebuilds, for the Palestinians, all the buildings that have been destroyed, and that it, along with all its citizens, withdraw from all occupied (stolen) territories and compensate Palestine for the harm done (it cannot bring back all the people who were murdered).

Yesterday, in an act of unprecedented brutality, Israel bombed children, teenagers, and adults who were having their Ramadan breakfast in the courtyard of a girls' school in Jabalia (north Gaza), causing the devastation seen in this video. Israel is now trying to remove this video from the internet, so please share it widely with your contacts.

Those who are moved by the Palestinian genocide and call for Israel to stop this horrific massacre possess human sensitivity and dignity. Those who do not are devoid of both sensitivity and dignity and are a true disgrace to humanity, regardless of their background. They are truly human scum.

And what about those who belong to the first group but vote for political parties that belong to the second, or vice versa—those who are in the second group but vote for parties that belong to the first? They are prime examples of hypocrisy.
