The football competitions in Spain are structured as follows:
First division: 1 group of 20 teams (the last three, 18th, 19th and 20th, are relegated to the 2nd division).
Second division: 1 group of 22 teams (the first and second are promoted directly to the 1st division, and also the first in a play-off that takes place between the 3rd and 6th. The last four are relegated to the First federation).
First Federation: 2 groups of 20 teams each (the first in each group is promoted directly to the second division and also the champion of the play-off of each group that takes place between the second and fifth of each group. The last 5 of each group are relegated to the Second Federation).
Second Federation: 5 groups of 18 teams each. A Catalan-Balearic (the 5 group champions advance to the 1st Federation. The five champions of the play-off that takes place in each group between the teams that have finished between 2nd and 5th place also advance to the 1st Federation. And the last 5 of each group and the two that lose in a promotion that takes place between the 4 worst classified in the 13th place of their group are relegated to the 3rd Federation).
Third Federation: 18 groups of 18 teams each. A Balearic (the 18 group champions plus 9 more that come out of the play-off and elimination that takes place between the 2nd and 5th of each group are relegated to the second federation. And the last three of each group are relegated to the Regional Preferent).
Regional Preferent. Mallorca (18 teams); Menorca; Ibiza and Formentera (the 1st goes directly to the third and the last three go down to the First regional. From the 2nd to the 7th of Mallorca, plus the 1st of Menorca and the first of Ibiza-Formentera, 4 groups are formed. The 4 group champions also go up to the third federation. The last three go down to the First Regional).
First Regional: 1 group. Mallorca of 20 teams (The first three go up to the Preferred Regional and the last two go down to the Second Regional).
Second Regional: 3 groups. Mallorca (the three best go up to the First Regional and the three worst go down to the Third Regional).
Third Regional: 2 groups. Mallorca (three teams go up to the Second Regional, the two best in each group and the best second in both groups. There are no relegations).
